Eagle Farm review 8/2

*A couple of blowout results and a few many punters expected. Just not a track I love betting on as I'm not convinced many are riding the track right..

Race 1:

HANCORA FIELD was backed as if unbeatable on debut. On that occasion the stablemate MISHANI MACHINE was way too good late. Tables were turned here. HANCORA FIELD led and got it ok up front, was able to kick and hold them all off late to win well. JELLISHOT, MISHANI MACHINE and BELLISSIMA AMICI were all good from the back, just had too much to do. BELLISSIMA AMICI out to 1400m with a gate would be ideal next start.

Race 2:

Horrible race and no upside at all in any of these. IN YOUR ELEMENT was strong again late but just doesn’t win. Apprentice did nothing wrong, I’d just love to see them put a senior on. KUTTAMURRA AL a rising 8yr old with 47 starts won, that sums up the race.

Race 3:

Forster has the ability to improve horses, she has a small stable and finds a way to get the best out of them. TWILIGHTER has only had the two runs for her, the fresh run was excellent and this run was a career best. Put on the speed for once and this was over on the corner. Couldn’t believe how short ULTIMATE RING was here but he ran well again, he always does but he’s another non-winner. Liked the run of CHAMPAGNE VEGA, they can find an easier race than this, possibly on the northern rivers and can be winning next time.

Race 4:

VANNA GIRL just keeps improving and this was a really good win. She got a nice run in transit and put them away quickly. No reason she won’t keep winning. There was only a head and a head between her, BADOOSH and STUTTERING last start at the sunny coast, big margins this time. BADOOSH was a bit of a forgive after clipping heels at the 1000m. STUTTERING had every chance and was a pass mark. VIOLET put in a career best, got back and made a heap of ground to run 2nd. PLAYTHEFIELD got too far back and it was a hard day to get to the outside and make ground. Will be winning a maiden shortly.

Race 5:

Don’t like the form out of this much. Don’t really rate BOOM BOY and he was able to win at $51. Not that surprised about the short priced fav getting rolled. She looked the one but these CL2 horses taking on tough old heads can be very hard at benchmark level. Forgive AMORE DANZA who was wide, can find something easier next time out. MOSCINI  was good again, well suited in a BM like this, looked home for all money only to be nailed on the line.

Race 6:

SPECTROSCOPE has been racing well without winning and he threw this race away. Brad had given NEW UNIVERSE a great ride, he shot through and just as you thought he was the winner, SPECTROSCOPE loomed and was going to go straight passed until he rolled in and cost himself the race. Both efforts were good. I had SILVERA up on speed and if he was there he’d have won. Instead he was back last and his race was over after 200m. Very good late and ready to win, just can’t spot them a start like he did here.

Race 7:

A Fradd peach here. Horror gate on PLITVICE and after 300m he was midfield with cover. Fresh air in the straight and simply too good. SMART AS ATTACK was very good back to the fence and knocking on the door for a win. Not getting carried away with many others. Happy to think SOFIE’S GOLD CLASS can improve off the run.

Race 8:

How good is MASTER JAMIE? Answer is I’m not sure. 61kg in a handy race and he blew them away. He’s won 11 of 14 and we still might not have seen the best of him. BABY BOOMER got back and really good through the line again here. He’s a handy one in the making also. SHAKA ROCK didn’t get the best of runs and up in grade was very good at 2nd career run. Can find a much easier race soon.

Race 9:

This is how you ride Eagle Farm. Nothdurft on INVINCIBLE AL was outstanding. Jocks just don’t nurse them around this track for some reason. He waited until the 220m to ask the horse for an effort and it let down sensationally. It seems other jocks are just going to continue to take off at the 500m, if they do this kid will outride them every week, he’s a star on the rise. QIJI PHOENIX bounced back off a poor run last start, looked the winner at the 150m and can win a similar race soon. DREAM MASTER continues to run well without winning, he might be better suited around Doomben or the GC.
