The Sultan's Randwick Review April 4

Randwick did what Randwick does of late and that’s play very fair. Brilliant track.

Race 1

DOUBTLAND was dominant here and keen to see him back as a 3yo. Explosive win!

Race 2

BOTTEGA ran his L600m some 5L faster than anything else in the race and his L200m was a clear fastest. The winner ENTENTE was rated an absolute treat by Clark, but if BOTTEGA goes around again, he’s worth following.

Race 4

COLETTE was already on track for the Oaks before this, but this was a dominant win. The Adrian Knox isn’t the best form reference for the Oaks traditionally, but this win was good and I’ve got her on top if she goes there. QUINTESSA franked that Hawkesbury Mdn form with ENTENTE winning race 2.

Race 5

A race full of horses that don’t win out of turn, won by a horse that doesn’t win out of turn! Surely this won’t be a Sydney Cup reference. CARIF just struggles to put a race away!

Race 6

Big forgive on MAMARAGAN. Whatever could go wrong, went wrong. I’d say the best horse didn’t win. He spells now and keen to see him as a 3yo. OLE KIRK copped a bump on the turn and went wide before running on. In the mix for the Champagne. KINGS LEGACY got a sensational steer from Bowman, close to ride of the day.

Race 7

The NZ stayer reigned supreme, yet again! Tough win and all honours. The effort of ZEBROWSKI was enormous in his 2nd prep. This was his 4th run in as many weeks! WARNING was disappointing and juiced plenty of carrots early. Does a line go through CASTELVECCHIO for the QE after this? Probably.

Race 8

NATURE STRIP - his best is just astonishingly good. Ran a 10.50 1000-800m split when being pressured and still just kept going. He’s a beast! PIERATA put in the best run for the All Aged in my opinion and TOFANE ran a RF L200m split, huge run! BIVOUAC was a forgive after rearing at the jump then running on. REDZEL drew curtains on a sensational career. A world class sprinter and so honest. Great career, enjoy retirement lad!

Race 9

Good story NETTOYER. A real feel good G1 win. How good was the footage of all the jockeys getting around James Innes Jnr past the winning post! Great win. MELLODY BELLE was huge in defeat. Stewards vision shows her 3 and 4 wide without cover and she loomed up as the winner before rightfully knocking up. Winner was excellent, MB was the run of the race.

Race 10

RUBISAKI is such a good filly! For a Filly with a get back racing style to have won 7 from 9 is outstanding! This stable has worked her out big time and it’s paid dividends; runs spaced, quiet trials. She ran the F L 200m split OTD and it was soft on the line. Interested to see where she goes next. She’s now a G3 & G2 winner, can she take the next step?
